The Area

1770 and Agnes Water was the second section of coast on which Captain James Cook landed when discovering Australia. Anchoring up in Bustard Bay he came ashore to gather fresh water, supplies and to carry out much needed repairs to his ship. It is easy to see why he chose this place to land, with its beautiful foliage an abundance of life and a safe anchorage.
